In addition to the peer support groups, we also offer a range of activities designed to help people connect with others in similar situations. There is no need to prebook, and anyone is welcome to come along.
Relaxation
Taking place every Thursday 10am – 11:15am, under the tuition of qualified therapists, the session allows those taking part to learn relaxation techniques which can assist them to relax better and reduce their stress levels within all environments.
Yoga
Taking place every Wednesday 10:30am – 11:30am, our yoga instructor Karen can adapt the class to suit all abilities. Yoga has many health benefits such as increasing flexibility, building strength, and lowering bloody pressure in addition to a increase in wellbeing by reducing stress and mindfulness.
Choir
Our choir takes place every Monday between 11:45am – 1:15pm. Our choir master Ray is fun and enthusiastic, welcoming people of all abilities. Singing is a great way to improve mental wellbeing and a great way to meet others.
Art therapy
Taking place every Wednesday 2pm, the art therapy group does not operate under formal tuition, it is an informal social group, who together have improved their artistic abilities and skills and are now producing some excellent pieces of work. Due to their diagnosis many people affected by cancer can feel both stressed and isolated, becoming involved in activities of this type can help reduce the emotional and physical impact that cancer can bring.
Craft Group
Taking place every Friday 10am – 12pm for those of you who are interested in design and would like to meet others undergoing similar experiences or express yourself through this activity then, why not come along and join in with our craft group.
